The first live show from VGC: The Video Game Podcast, featuring live gaming tournaments, panel discussions and trivia hosted by the VGC crew.
VGC Live comes to Oran Mor on Friday 16 October, the first-ever live show from VGC: The Video Game Podcast. It takes the publication's audio format onto the stage, with Jordan Middler, Chris Scullion and Andy Robinson leading the night. They're joined by special guests, and the whole thing is billed as a celebration of video game culture, mixing gaming nonsense and energy drinks with live gaming tournaments, panel discussions and a chance to play gaming trivia against the VGC crew.
Oran Mor is a West End venue that opened in 1862 as the Kelvinside Free Church, and since then it's hosted acts like Chvrches' Lauren Mayberry, Limmy and The Football Ramble. It's a good spot for a night like this, and the 18+ age limit means the gaming trivia and tournaments will be an adults-only affair.
There's a bit of extra gear you can pick up before you go: a limited-edition A1 event poster by artist Wil Overton is available to pre-order from the VGC Store for in-person collection at the show. Overton is a name known to UK magazine fans for his cover work on Super Play and N64 Magazine in the 1990s, and for his time as an illustrator at Rare, with art appearing in Edge, Retro Gamer and The Phoenix. If you've spent any time with those titles, you'll recognise the style.
