A family-friendly musical adaptation of the popular DreamWorks film Shrek, brought to the stage by TSP.
TSP are bringing Shrek the Musical to the King's Theatre in Glasgow, with the run opening on Wednesday 23 June 2027 and continuing through to Saturday 26 June. It's a short run, just four days, so if you're planning to go, you'll want to pick your night early rather than leaving it until the last minute.
For those who only know the name, the show is a stage adaptation of the DreamWorks film, refashioned into a live theatre experience. It takes the story you'll remember — the ogre, the donkey, the fairy-tale creatures, and the quest to get a swamp back — and puts it on its feet with songs and choreography. TSP are the ones bringing it to the stage, and they've billed it as a show for the whole family, so it's as much for the kids as it is for anyone who grew up with the original movie.
It's a musical, so the songs carry the story, and the whole thing is built around comedy, adventure, and a fair bit of heart. If you've seen the film, you've got a good idea of where it's heading, but seeing it played out live on stage is a different thing entirely. The run is short, and the venue is right in the city, so it's an easy one to slot into a week.
