Weekly Sunday morning open indoor skating session for new skaters at ARC: Health and Fitness.
TrySkating is running indoor skating sessions on Sunday mornings at ARC: Health and Fitness in Glasgow city centre, and as the name suggests, they're aimed at new skaters. If you've always wanted to give it a go but didn't fancy learning on a busy street or a random car park, this is a decent way to start. It's an indoor session, so you're out of the rain and off the road, which makes it a bit easier to find your feet.
The sessions run from 10am to 12.30pm on selected Sundays throughout 2026, so it's a regular thing rather than a one-off. That's the useful bit: if you're not feeling entirely confident after the first time, you can just come back the following week and keep at it. It's a morning slot, too, which leaves the rest of your Sunday for whatever else you've got planned.
It's held at the Arc Sports Hall, part of ARC: Health and Fitness on Cowcaddens Road, right in the city centre (G4 0BA), so it's easy to get to without needing a car. The whole thing is geared towards people who are just starting out, so you'll be around others in the same boat rather than dodging experienced skaters.

On the money side, it's £8 for adults and £6 for juniors and seniors. If you're bringing the family, there's an adult and child ticket for £12, and every additional junior skater is another £5. Between the morning time, the central location, and the fact that it's designed for beginners, it's a straightforward way to get on skates without making a big production of it. Just keep in mind that these run on selected Sundays, so it's worth checking the dates before you head down.
