Swedish metalcore band Thrown bring Counterparts, No Cure and Heavens Gate to the O2 Academy.
Thrown play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Saturday 12 December, with Counterparts, No Cure and Heavens Gate on the bill. It's part of a run of UK dates that sees them in Manchester on Friday 11 December and London on Sunday 13 December, so Glasgow sits right in the middle of the weekend.
Thrown are a four-piece nu metalcore band from Sweden, formed in 2021. The line-up is vocalist Marcus Lundqvist, guitarists Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm, and drummer and producer Buster Odeholm. They've moved quickly from the underground to international attention, and the sound they're known for blends heavy hardcore and metalcore with nu metal elements, trap beats and phonk. Their debut EP, EXTENDED PAIN, came out in 2022 and spent nearly a year in Spotify's Top 200 Global Metal Chart. They followed it with their first full album, EXCESSIVE GUILT, an 11-track record released in August 2024. With over 1.5 million monthly listeners and their 2026 single 'split' out, they're one of the fastest-growing names in modern heavy music.

They're not alone on the night, either. Counterparts, No Cure and Heavens Gate are all on the bill, so there's plenty to hear before Thrown take the stage. The Glasgow show is on Saturday 12 December at the O2 Academy Glasgow, 121 Eglinton Street, G5 9NT. Doors open at 18:30, with a curfew of 21:00, and the night is ages 14+.
