Indie rock band The Wombats perform their 20th anniversary tour, playing their debut album in full followed by their biggest hits, with support from Snuts.
The Wombats play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Tuesday 13 April 2027, as part of a tour marking 20 years since their debut album, A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation. It's a split bill: the first half of the night is the debut played in full, and the second gathers their biggest hits from across the years. Support on select dates comes from Snuts, Cherryholt, Abbie McCarthy and Filip Clements.
A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation came out in 2007 and peaked at number 11 on the Official Albums Chart. It sold over 400,000 copies in the UK, has been streamed more than half a billion times, and is BPI certified platinum. For the band, it was the record that put them on the map as one of the UK's most exciting new indie bands.
Drummer Dan Haggis describes it as the culmination of their first four years together — a run that took them from driving around the UK in his grandmother's car and sleeping on promoters' floors to playing the Albert Hall, touring Japan, the US and Australia (where they met an actual wombat), and playing Glastonbury. The band consists of Matthew 'Murph' Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis, and they've stayed together since those early days, scoring their first number one album in 2022.
