The Witchy Wedding Fayre

The Witchy Wedding Fayre comes to Barras Art and Design Centre on Sunday 15 November, from 11am to 3pm. It's Scotland's newest alternative and inclusive wedding fayre, sponsored by Your Scottish Wedding and proudly LGBTQ+ friendly. The organisers describe it as "not your average wedding fayre... it's a party", and that's a fair summary of what's on the go: over 40 alternative wedding suppliers from across the UK gathered in one room, with live entertainment running alongside.

Having that many suppliers in one place means you can work through a lot of ground in a single morning. The "alternative" part is the whole point here, so it's aimed at anyone planning a wedding that doesn't fit the traditional mould. The LGBTQ+ friendly label isn't just a footnote, either — it's right at the front of what they're doing. And if you've got a dog, you can bring them along, too.

The whole thing is hosted by drag queen Geezah Gobble, who'll be keeping things moving throughout the day. Between the stalls, there's live entertainment to break up the browsing, so it's less about ticking off a list and more about spending a few hours in the mix.

As for the venue, Barras Art and Design Centre (BAaD) sits in the heart of Glasgow's world-famous Barras Market in the East End. It's home to a community of homegrown artists — jewellery makers, retro furniture restorers, photographers and designers — and the BAaD Cafe serves locally sourced food and home baking. If you're coming from out of town, it's a good spot to wander around before or after. The fayre runs from 11am to 3pm on Sunday 15 November, with general admission and VIP tickets available from £8.
