The Vintage Explosion, a blues and soul band with four No.1 Apple Music Blues Albums, perform live at the O2 Academy Glasgow.
The Vintage Explosion play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Saturday 24 October, their only Glasgow date that autumn. They're a soul band that's come a long way from the viral clips that first put them on the map, and this is a proper headline show rather than a festival slot.
They've built a serious run of records since those early days: four No.1 Apple Music Blues Albums, and they've broken into the US Billboard Top 10 and the UK Top 40. The voice at the front is Will Hitchell, whom Rod Stewart once called 'the best white soul singer I've heard'. He recently won the International Songwriting Competition with 'Sweet Love', and the band's latest single, 'I Can't Get Enough of Lovin' You', hit No.1 on Apple Music worldwide. In 2025 they were named the Boisdale Xerjoff Band of the Year, an award presented by Jools Holland in London.
It's a soul set, so the night will be built around the singing. Hitchell's songwriting is a good part of that, and with the band's recent chart run, you'll hear a fair bit of the newer material alongside the songs that first made them a thing. The whole thing is a full band performance, not a singer-songwriter turn, so it's a proper night of live music rather than a quiet one.

Doors open at 19:00, and the curfew is 23:00, so there's plenty of time to get in and settle before they take the stage. The show is on Saturday 24 October at the O2 Academy Glasgow.
