The Postcards, Scotland's leading indie 80s and 90s covers band, present their 4th annual Twixmas celebration show.
The Postcards are back at Stereo Cafe Bar on Sunday 27 December, their fourth annual Twixtmas special. It's the same slot they've worked into the calendar over the last few years, falling right in that gap between Christmas and New Year when there's not much else going on in the city.
They're Scotland's leading indie covers band, and the set is built around the pop of the 1980s and 90s. The songs they're covering come from The Cure, Joy Division, The Bunnymen, Simple Minds, Orange Juice, Pulp and The Stone Roses. That's a fair spread across the decades, from the darker, post-punk side of things to the brighter, dancey indie that followed. It's the kind of set where you'll recognise the tracks without having to think about it, and the whole night is set up for you to sing, dance or shimmy along to them.
They describe themselves as Scotland's leading indie, 80s and 90s covers band, and this is their fourth year running the Twixtmas show. It's become a bit of a tradition for them, a way to keep the music going when most other things have wound down for the holidays.
