A Celtic Connections concert celebrating the music and experiences that shaped two decades for The Paul McKenna Band.
The Paul McKenna Band are playing Tramway on Friday 22 January, as part of Celtic Connections. It's a special one for them: the night marks 20 years together, and they've spent those two decades taking their blend of songs and tunes to audiences across Scotland and around the world, building a reputation for powerful live performances along the way.
They're treating the night as a celebration of the music, friendships and experiences that have shaped those two decades. The set will pull from across their catalogue, with old favourites sitting alongside more recent songs, and an extended line-up bringing a new dimension to the arrangements. There'll be special guests too, though they're yet to be announced.
It's a Celtic Connections show, so it fits right into the festival's run of concerts across the city. The band's work has always sat at the intersection of song and tune, and this one looks back over the whole stretch of their recording life rather than focusing on a single record.
