Astronomer Adrian West (VirtualAstro) brings his big-screen astronomy show, the sequel to his original Night Sky Show, to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Adrian West brings The Night Sky Show: A Sky Full of Hope to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 14 March 2027. It's the sequel to his original Night Sky Show, which played to sell-out crowds and got a lot of praise, so if you caught the first one, this is the follow-up.
West is an astronomer, presenter and author, and he describes the show as a visual and thought-provoking journey across the cosmos. It's built on big-screen effects and sound rather than a dry academic lecture, and he mixes science fiction with scientific fact in an entertaining, easy-to-follow way. The whole thing leans on sky-related themes to bring a sense of hope to the audience, so it's less about the numbers and more about the feeling of looking up.
You might know him better as VirtualAstro on social media, where he runs one of the largest independent astronomy and space accounts on X. Beyond that, he's written for the BBC, the Met Office and the National Trust, and authored the book The Secret World of Stargazing.
