The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs join forces for a co-headlining UK tour at the O2 Academy Glasgow.
The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs are playing together at O2 Academy Glasgow on Friday 22 January 2027. It's a co-headlining bill, so both bands get their own full set rather than one opening for the other. The two played a series of co-headline dates across the US in 2024, and this is the UK leg of that pairing.
The Jesus & Mary Chain formed in East Kilbride in 1983 around brothers Jim and William Reid. They defined the alternative noise-pop sound with their 1985 debut Psychocandy, which included 'Just Like Honey' and helped inspire shoegaze. After splitting in 1998, they reunited in 2007 and released their eighth studio album, Glasgow Eyes, in 2024. This is a home show for them, too, given the East Kilbride roots.
The Psychedelic Furs formed in London in 1977 and, led by frontman Richard Butler, became key figures in post-punk and new wave. Among their better-known songs are 'Pretty in Pink', which featured in John Hughes' 1986 film, and 'Love My Way'. After a hiatus in the 1990s, they reunited and released Made Of Rain in 2020.
