The Fray returns to Scotland on their Autumn Light Tour, performing live at the O2 Academy Glasgow.
The Fray are returning to Scotland on Wednesday 18 November, playing the O2 Academy Glasgow as part of their Autumn Light Tour. It's their first date back here in a while, and it's built around their latest record, A Light That Waits, which they describe as their first full-length album in years.
For those who haven't followed them closely, the Colorado band went quiet for a decade before returning in 2024. This tour is the first time they're taking that new material on the road. They're framing it as a renewed creative chapter, one they describe as defined by emotional clarity, cinematic songwriting and the same sound that first connected them with listeners more than twenty years ago.
That sound dates back to the early 2000s, when Joe King (lead vocals, guitar, primary songwriter), Dave Welsh (guitar) and Ben Wysocki (drums) built their name on a soul-searching alt-rock sound. Their 2005 debut, How To Save a Life, went four times platinum in the US and gave them the breakout single 'How To Save A Life', which spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a well-known theme from Grey's Anatomy. Since then, they've picked up four Grammy nominations, three Billboard Music Awards and several Billboard Top 10 hits.

So, if you've known them since the How To Save a Life days, this is a chance to hear where they've landed after that long break. The set will lean on the new album, A Light That Waits, but they're touring it as a full-band show. Doors open at 19:00 and the curfew is 23:00, so it's a mid-week one that wraps up before midnight.
