Steve Hackett performs the best Genesis songs from his career alongside classic solo material at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Steve Hackett plays the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 18 October, as part of his Best of Genesis & Solo Gems tour. It's a double-bill of a night: he's bringing together the best Genesis songs from his time with the band and a selection of classic material from his own solo albums. If you're a fan of either, you'll get a good bit of both in one sitting.
It's been a while since he did something like this. His Genesis Revisited show toured back in 2013, with the UK leg ending at London's Royal Albert Hall and a live DVD to go with it. Since then, his guitar work has remained a constant across those classic Genesis albums of the 1970s, and in recent years he and his band have brought several of those albums back to the stage — the 2025 tour featured The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. For 2026, he's pairing the Genesis songs with his solo work, and the UK dates finish with another performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
He's not on his own for this one. He's playing with a full band: Jonas Reingold on bass, guitar and backing vocals; Rob Townsend on saxophone, flutes, additional keyboards and backing vocals; Nad Sylvan on vocals; Lalle Larsson on keyboards; and Felix Lehrmann on drums. It's a six-piece on stage, so the sound has plenty of room to move.
