A festive Christmas concert with a live band covering classic Christmas songs, returning bigger and brighter for 2026.
Step Into Christmas returns to the SEC Armadillo on Saturday 28 November, with doors opening at 6.30pm. It's a festive concert built around the song of the same name, written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin and released in November 1973, with 'Ho, Ho, Ho' on the B-side. That song is the heart of the show, and the rest of the set is filled out by a live band covering Christmas favourites: 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', 'Last Christmas', 'Jingle Bell Rock', 'Stay Another Day', 'Let it Snow', 'White Christmas', 'Do They Know It's Christmas', 'A Winter's Tale' and 'Merry Xmas Everybody'.
There's a bit of history to that title song that's worth knowing. It peaked at No. 24 on the UK singles chart when it first came out, but it's climbed steadily over the years: it hit the top 10 for the first time in 2018 at No. 10, and reached a new overall peak of No. 7 in 2025. In the US, it hit No. 1 on the Billboard Christmas Singles chart. The show takes that spirit and brings it to life with dazzling performances, festive visuals and a live band playing everything from heartwarming ballads to upbeat anthems. It's billed as bigger, brighter and more festive than ever, and as the most magical feel-good show of the year.
