The UK's number one tribute to the Small Faces returns with special guests The Kinks Experience, performing the classics of both legendary 1960s rock groups.
The Small Fakers are back at The Classic Grand on Saturday 21 November, with The Kinks Experience supporting. The two bands bill themselves as the UK's number one tributes to their respective inspirations, and this is part of their annual joint run through Glasgow and Edinburgh, which the organisers say always sell out.
The Small Fakers work through the Small Faces' catalogue, from the classics and album tracks to the b-sides. You'll hear 'Whatcha Gonna Do About It' and 'Wham Bam Thank You Mam', alongside Lazy Sunday, All Or Nothing, Tin Soldier and Itchycoo Park. Stan Lane, brother of Ronnie Lane, has put it this way: 'For those of you who never got to see the Small Faces live, this is as close as you're gonna get'.
Opening the night, The Kinks Experience describe their set as an honest and accurate interpretation of The Kinks, with You Really Got Me, All Day And All Of The Night, Lola and Days among the hits they cover. Between the two of them, the bill runs through two of the biggest names of the sixties mod and rock scene in one go.
