Slade UK, a tribute act fronted by Nidge and Andy, performs the greatest hits of Slade in a fun-filled, over-18s show.
Slade UK play The Ferry on Friday 30 October, a two-hour set that runs through the Slade songbook. It's a tribute act built around a bit of a joke: their 'About the show' section introduces Nidge, a large tattooed northern man who longs for something loud, bawdy and full of fun, and who decides the world needs Noddy Holder back on stage. Enter Andy, a guitarist who shares the same initials as the vocal legend and who, the gag goes, actually sings like him. Together they recreate the experience of a real Slade show, packing the set with the band's greatest hits.
There's plenty to get through. You'll hear 'Cum On Feel The Noize', 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now' and 'Merry Xmas Everybody', alongside 'Gudbuy T' Jane', 'Coz I Luv You', 'My Oh My', 'Run Run Away' and 'Far Far Away'. They don't stop at the most famous ones either: 'The Banging Man', 'Get Down And Get With It', 'Everyday' and 'How Does It Feel' are all in there, with surprises like 'Born To Be Wild' and 'Rock N Roll Preacher' thrown in. It's a long list of songs from a band that spent years at the top of the charts, and they're all on the table for the night.

On the practical side, the show starts at 8:30pm with doors open from 5:30pm, so there's plenty of time to get sorted before the music kicks in. Tickets start from £17.00, and it's a strictly over-18s night, so keep that in mind if you're bringing a group. The Ferry is over in Glasgow (G3 8BX), and with two hours of Slade hits on the bill, it's a proper night out for anyone who knows their way around the band's catalogue.
