A traditional Scottish ceilidh with the Coila Ceilidh Band, a dance caller, and a resident DJ, with a three-course Hogmanay dinner available.
The Hogmanay Ceilidh returns to The Ferry on Thursday 31 December, the venue's annual New Year's Eve dance on the banks of the River Clyde. It's a full-on ceilidh night in the heart of Glasgow, with the Coila Ceilidh Band leading the way. They're a seasoned outfit, with 25 years of experience and a regular touring schedule that takes them well beyond Scotland, so they know their way around a dancefloor.
If you've never done a ceilidh, there's no need to worry about the footwork. The band is joined by a caller who teaches every dance step-by-step, so you can just follow along and get into it without having to know any of the patterns beforehand. When the band takes a break, a resident DJ steps in with high-energy hits to keep the floor moving, alternating sets throughout the night so the dancing doesn't stop.
You can make a proper evening of it, too. There's a three-course Hogmanay dinner available before the dancing kicks off, so you can eat and drink your fill before you head for the floor. Just keep in mind it's strictly over-18s.
