Scottish folk-rock band Skerryvore bring their Beautiful Mistakes album tour to the O2 Academy Glasgow.
Skerryvore play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Saturday 7 November, one of two Scottish dates on their current tour. They're out with Beautiful Mistakes, the new album produced by Jamie Squire — better known as the 'fifth member' of The 1975 — and the show is built around it.
For more than twenty years, Skerryvore have worked a particular blend of traditional Scottish music and contemporary rock. They started on the Isle of Tiree and have grown into an eight-piece, picking up a record-breaking four 'Live Act of the Year' awards from Scotland along the way. That live reputation is what they're leaning on here: they're known for high-energy sets, and this tour is no different. The Glasgow date is one of two Scottish stops on the run, with a night in Edinburgh on 6 November and a London date on 27 November.
As an eight-piece, they're a big sound on stage, and the Beautiful Mistakes tour is where you'll hear the new material in full. Squire's production on the record is meant to capture the warmth, musicianship and spirit that have made them one of Scotland's most celebrated live acts, and that's exactly what they'll be bringing to the O2 Academy. It's a Scottish band playing a Scottish crowd, and they've got the numbers on stage to fill the room.
