Scottish pop duo Scratchcard Wednesday headline at the historic Saint Luke's venue in Glasgow's East End.
Scratchcard Wednesday play Saint Luke's and the Winged Ox on Wednesday 30 December, a few days before the New Year. It's a headline show for the Scottish pop duo, who've built their name around the kind of songwriting that sits comfortably in a room like this.
If you're not familiar with them, the duo is vocalist Tyrese Ojo and multi-instrumentalist Dexter Brady. That's the whole of it — just the two of them on stage, Ojo on the singing and Brady handling the instruments. It's a stripped-back setup, and the pop they do is built from that: a voice and a few instruments rather than a full band. It's the kind of thing that works well in a smaller room, where you can hear the individual parts.
Saint Luke's is a long-established live music venue and bar in Glasgow's East End, and it's got a bit of a history to it. Back in 2017, it picked up Best Live Music Venue Glasgow, Scottish Pub of the Year, and Dog Friendly Pub of the Year. It shares the site with the Winged Ox, the bar and kitchen that opens seven days a week and serves an eclectic range of food 'for the soul'. The venue also hosts the city's annual Hogmanay party, so it's used to being the place people gather when the year is winding down.

Scratchcard Wednesday start at 19:00, and tickets are from £145.00. With the show on the 30th, it's one of those gigs that falls right into the gap between Christmas and New Year, when the city's usually a bit quieter and the pubs are the main thing going. If you're staying in Glasgow over the break, it's a good way to fill a Wednesday night before the Hogmanay celebrations kick in.
