Georgia Rose Lucas presents a special 80th anniversary tribute to her mother Sandy Denny, a pioneer of British folk-rock, as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
Georgia Rose Lucas brings a tribute to her mother, Sandy Denny, to the Citizens Theatre on Friday 29 January 2027, as part of the 80th anniversary of Denny's birth. It's a collaboration with Celtic Connections, Glasgow's annual folk, roots and world music festival, which celebrates Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe.
Denny was a pioneer of British folk-rock and one of the UK's finest ever singer-songwriters. Twice voted 'Best British Female Singer', she fronted the trailblazing folk-rock bands Fairport Convention and Fotheringay before building an acclaimed solo career. Her song 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' has become a modern classic, covered by more than 200 artists worldwide. The night gathers a line-up of musicians to honour her enduring influence on contemporary folk.

As part of Celtic Connections, the show sits within a wider month of folk, roots and world music across the city. The festival itself is an annual fixture in Glasgow, focusing on Celtic music and its links to cultures around the world, so this tribute fits right into that broader conversation. The performance takes place in the Citizens Theatre's Main Theatre, with the music starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £26, with a £1.50 booking fee per transaction.
