Indie legends Razorlight bring their America 20th Anniversary Tour to the O2 Academy Glasgow, playing the classic album in full plus deep cuts.
Razorlight play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Thursday 26 November, as part of a tour marking twenty years since their self-titled second album. It's the classic four-piece on stage: Johnny Borrell on vocals, Björn Ågren on guitar, Carl Dalemo on bass and Andy Burrows on drums. They're playing Razorlight in full, with the album's songs running through the set alongside deep cuts from across their career.
If the name rings a bell but the details are fuzzy, it's because they were one of the bands that defined the British indie boom of the 2000s. They formed in London in 2002, led by Borrell, and made their mark with the 2004 debut Up All Night, which gave us 'Golden Touch' and 'Somewhere Else'. But it was the self-titled follow-up in 2006 that really put them on the map: it went five times platinum, hit number one in the UK, and produced 'America' as well as 'In the Morning'.
That particular line-up didn't stay together, and the band went through a string of changes and a hiatus before Borrell, Ågren, Dalemo and Burrows officially reunited in 2021. Since then, they've returned to recording, releasing their fifth studio album, Planet Nowhere, in late 2024. This tour is the anniversary of that 2006 record, so the set is built around it, with the full album played through and the deeper catalogue filling in around the edges.
