Ray O'Leary brings his grey suit and super-deadpan wit to The Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow.
Ray O'Leary is back at The Stand Comedy Club on Wednesday 24 February, with his show I Can See O'Leary Now The Ray Has Gone. He's a New Zealand comedian who's spent the last few years building a bit of a name for himself over here, and this is his return to these shores.
If you're not familiar with him, the easiest way to pin him down is the grey suit and the super-deadpan wit. He's the star of Taskmaster NZ and was nominated for Best Show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and his Edinburgh Fringe runs in 2024 and 2025 both sold out. That's the more straightforward side of things, but the show itself leans into the persona. The bio plays along with it from the start: it opens with a satirical sketch that jokingly names him leader of North Korea from 1994 until 2011, and later claims that when he was born winter changed to spring, a new star formed in the heavens and a double rainbow appeared. It's that kind of deadpan, self-aggrandising nonsense that sits right at the heart of the act.

The night is just him, so it's a straightforward one-man show. He'll be performing at The Stand, 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow G3 6NG. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm, with tickets costing £18.
