A hands-on autumn workshop where participants hand-pour their own soy candles, choosing from the studio's autumn range of scents and colours.
Braw Wee Craft Club is running a pumpkin candle making workshop in Glasgow city centre on Sunday 18 October, with more dates following on the 29th, 30th and 31st. It's a hands-on autumn session where you pour your own soy candles into pumpkin shapes, pick your scents and colours from the studio's autumn range, and take home three candles at the end. Each session runs for two and a half hours.
The club is a women-owned, not-for-profit studio led by Jennifer McGlone, who has a degree in Community Arts and more than 20 years of experience running workshops across the UK. It grew out of the programme she started at Braw Wee Emporium back in 2017 and has welcomed over 1,500 people since. The mission behind it is to promote creativity as a catalyst for change and well-being, and they donate 50p to Mental Health UK with every booking.
Candles aren't the only thing on the go there. The studio runs a range of craft classes for young and adult learners, from lampshades and bottle lamps to arm-knitting giant cosy blankets and an 'Intro to Jesmonite' session, and they collaborate with local businesses and community organisations across the city.
