An early evening club-style singalong with interactive games and crowd participation, featuring 80s and 90s stadium anthems.
Power Ballads returns to Barras Art and Design Centre on Friday 16 October, running from 6pm to 11pm. It's billed as the ultimate air-guitar anthem-along, a high-energy, nostalgia-driven night built around iconic 80s and 90s stadium anthems. Rather than a traditional concert, it's framed as an early evening club-style singalong, with interactive games and crowd participation woven in throughout.
If you've been to BAaD before, you'll know it's a bit of a hybrid: a venue, studio, retail space and creative hub in the heart of the Barras Market. The building itself is quite something, with a spectacular covered courtyard and a glazed roof supported on pink steel arches. Inside you'll find a tropical courtyard oasis, a floating restaurant and a sun-trapped container yard, and the space hosts everything from gigs and comedy nights to exhibitions, fashion shows and conferences. It's run by The Calton Taproom, which pours more than 20 taps of local craft beer nearby.

Power Ballads fits right into that mix. It's less about sitting back and listening and more about getting involved, with the 80s and 90s stadium anthems providing the soundtrack and the games and singalongs keeping the crowd on their feet. It's an early evening affair, so you're in and out while it's still light, and it's back at BAaD on Friday 16 October from 6pm to 11pm.
