Stand-up comedy show by Paul Foot, presented by Plosive Live, with age guidance 14+.
Paul Foot brings his show The Future to Òran Mór on Friday 30 October, with the performance starting at 8:00pm. It's presented by Plosive Live, and the age guidance is 14+.
If you've come across Foot's work on TV, you'll recognise him as a regular on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He's a bit of an alt-comedy hero, known for a particular kind of pedantry and for the bluff and innuendo-ridden rants that have made him an audience favourite. Noel Fielding once described his routines as "like jazz clusters, loose hammocks, choked to the brim with jokes and ideas," which gives you a decent sense of the way he works: a lot of ideas packed into a single set.
He's been around the circuit for a while. He was voted BBC Comedian Of The Year, won an Open Mic Award, and was a Perrier Newcomer Nominee. In 2023, he took home the (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show. Beyond the stand-up, he's appeared on The Infinite Monkey Cage on BBC Radio 4, Never Mind The Buzzcocks on BBC2, Would I Lie To You? on BBC1, The Morning After on NBC, and Set List on Sky Atlantic, and he was a finalist on Series 6 of NBC's Last Comic Standing.
