Mull Historical Society performs its landmark album 'Loss' in its entirety to celebrate its 25th anniversary, within the Celtic Connections festival.
Mull Historical Society play Òran Mór on Thursday 28 January, as part of Celtic Connections 2027. The night is built around Loss, the album that first brought Colin MacIntyre's songwriting to audiences across the UK, and they'll be playing it in its entirety.
MacIntyre is the voice and the songwriter behind the name, and for this show he's fronting a full band that includes Sorren Maclean and Hannah Fisher. It's a rare live outing for him, so the set doesn't stop with Loss. He'll be drawing further highlights from his ten-album catalogue, including the recent release In My Mind There's A Photograph, so the evening reaches beyond that one record.
MacIntyre himself is a multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer from the Isle of Mull off Scotland's west coast. He's described himself as a songwriting junkie oblivious to passing trends, and the 'society' that's followed him has grown far beyond his home island. His work blends island storytelling, melody and imagination, and Loss was the landmark that put it on the map.
