Psychedelic indie rockers Neon Waltz bring their live show back to King Tut's, a venue for over-18s only.
Neon Waltz are back at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Saturday 27 February, bringing their live show back to the Glasgow venue. They're a Scottish indie rock band who've spent the last few years carving out a bit of a name for themselves in the melodic alternative scene, and this is their return to the Tut's stage.
If you're not familiar with them, they're often described as 'Britain's most northerly band', and the sound fits the label: distorted guitars set against bass-driven soul and multi-tracked vocal harmonies. Their debut album, Strange Hymns, came out in 2017 and put them on the map as a distinctive voice in British melodic alternative rock, with The National, The Band, The Walkmen and Grizzly Bear listed as influences. A second album, Honey Now, followed in 2023, and they've since released the single 'Winner' on Fierce Panda Records.
The songs are written by frontman and lyricist Jordan Shearer and drummer Darren Coghill. The current four-piece line-up has Shearer on vocals, Coghill on drums, and Jamie and Kevin Swanson on guitar. It's a Scottish band playing a Glasgow room, so there's a bit of a home-turf feel to it.
