Genre-blending UK artist mustbejohn headlines King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, supported by Talia Rae, as part of his 'Words to Live By' UK tour.
mustbejohn headlines King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Sunday 6 December, with Talia Rae supporting. It's part of his Words to Live By UK tour, which also stops in Bristol, Manchester, Leeds and London.
If you've come across him recently, you'll know him as a UK artist who doesn't sit still. He first broke through in 2019 with his debut EP Left The Bags Behind, after studying Music Business at Westminster University. Those early records built a genre-blurring sound that pulled in rap, garage, house and electronic music, and he's since racked up over 18 million streams, with 'Lucy' and 'Jenny's House' becoming cult favourites. The Streets, Gorillaz and Arctic Monkeys are the names he cites as influences, and you can hear them in the way he blends storytelling with production that works as well on a dancefloor as it does on headphones.
In 2025 he shifted in a bold indie/alternative direction, drawing on his surroundings and everyday experiences to make music rooted in city life, friendships, parties and personal growth. He describes it as relatable, catchy and emotionally honest, and the Glasgow date is one of the stops on the Words to Live By tour that takes that new material on the road. Between the newer songs and the older, more electronic-leaning tracks, there's a good bit of ground to cover in one set.
