The West End comedy musical based on the beloved 1993 film, with new songs and dance numbers, recommended for audiences aged 6 and over.
Mrs. Doubtfire The Musical is coming to the King's Theatre from 12 to 31 January 2027, a three-week run that brings the story to Glasgow after its Broadway and West End debuts. It's a stage adaptation of the 1993 film starring Robin Williams and Sally Field, so if you remember the movie, you know the basic setup: a recently divorced father, Daniel, disguises himself as an elderly Scottish nanny, Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire, just to spend more time with his children.
It's a comedy musical, so it's not just the plot from the film. There are new songs and dance numbers throughout, and the whole thing runs two hours and 40 minutes with one intermission. The book is by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farell, with music and lyrics from Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick, and choreography by Lorin Latarro. Jerry Zaks directs.
Gabriel Vick takes the lead as Daniel Hillard, with Kara Lily Hayworth as Miranda Hillard and Aaliya Mai as Lydia Hillard. Ryan Pidgen plays Frank Hillard, Jairus McClanahan is Andre Mayem, and James Darch plays Stuart Dunmire. Samuelle Durojaiye is Wanda Sellner, Carl Patrick doubles as Mr Jolly and the Judge, Kiera Haynes is Janet Lundy, and Rhianne Alleyne appears as the Flamenco Singer. Adam Colbeck-Dunn is the alternate Daniel Hillard.

It's recommended for audiences aged six and over, so it works as a family outing. There are also accessible performances available, including captioned, audio-described and BSL-interpreted shows. The run starts on 12 January and goes through to the 31st at the King's Theatre.
