A family-friendly magic show featuring Gary Dunn and his sidekick Chico the Monkey, designed to delight audiences of all ages.
Gary Dunn brings Monkey Business to the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre on Thursday 15 October, with his cheeky sidekick Chico the Monkey by his side. It's a magic show built for laughter and designed to delight audiences of all ages, so it works just as well if you're bringing the kids as it does if you're going with a group of friends.
On stage, Dunn and Chico lean into the comedy side of magic, with the act described as full of monkey mischief and banana antics. It's the kind of show where the chaos is part of the point, and Chico is as much a part of the performance as the magic itself.
The venue is the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre, tucked away in Glasgow's West End at 8-10 Balcarres Avenue, G12 0QF. It's a bit more than just a theatre: it's also a museum and an education unit, with 80 seats, an extensive mask and puppet library and archive, permanent exhibition areas, a mask studio, and a marionette carving workshop. The centre runs a regular family Saturday Show programme from September through June, alongside workshops and birthday party events, and hires out two touring exhibitions, The Magic of Masks & Puppets and Behind The Mask.
