Stand-up comedy show about Milo Edwards' parents, their letters and the 1980s.
Milo Edwards brings his show Catamaran to The Stand Comedy Club on Monday 30 November, part of his UK tour. It's a stand-up show about his parents and the letters they wrote to each other, set in the 1980s. The whole thing started in 2025, when he found a box of old letters in the back of his late mother's wardrobe and built the show around them.
Edwards has a strong reputation behind him. Chortle called him 'one of the UK's smartest, most vital stand-ups', and the British Comedy Guide described him as 'a formidable stand up force'. He was nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in both 2023 and 2024, so he's not exactly a newcomer. Catamaran is the one he's taking on the road, and the Glasgow date is one stop on that tour.
The Stand is a good fit for it. The club opened on Great Western Road in 1995 and now runs three purpose-built venues across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. It started as a hobby for a group of enthusiasts and grew into a commercial company while keeping its focus on developing new comedy in Scotland. Its programme runs alongside the Red Raw beginners' nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows, and Irish and Scottish showcases, with solo shows from better-known performers like this one fitting right in.
