A 10K road race for men to raise awareness of men's health issues and raise funds for mental health initiatives, starting at the Riverside Museum.
The Men's 10K returns to the Riverside Museum on Sunday 20 June 2027, with a 09:30 start. It's a men-only road race that's been running since 2004, and it's built a following as 'the run for men in the west of Scotland', drawing thousands of participants each summer.
There's a specific reason it exists. The race was created to raise awareness of the health issues affecting men in Scotland and to raise funds for mental health initiatives. The organisers point to a stark figure: suicide is the biggest killer of young people aged 18 to 34 in Scotland, and almost three out of four of those deaths are men. It's a heavy starting point, but that's what the run is about.
The course is rated beginner-friendly, with 131 feet of ascent over the 10km. From the Riverside Museum (the Riverside Transport Museum, 100 Pointhouse Road, G3 8RS), you head east along the River Clyde. Within the first two kilometres, you'll pass the Glasgow Science Centre, the Armadillo, the SECC, and the SSE Hydro. From there, you cross the water over the 'Squiggly Bridge' and George V Bridge, go up Buchanan Street and past George Square, and finish at Glasgow Green, by the People's Palace.
