Glasgow's best jam session held on the first Friday of every month at Ivory Blacks, welcoming new musicians and guests to play all genres of music.
Lyn's CTF Club Jam is back at Ivory Blacks on the first Friday of every month, running from 1.30pm to 5.45pm. It's a regular fixture in the city's music scene, and it's billed as 'Glasgow's best jam session'.
The session is hosted and MC'd by Jim Keilt, who welcomes new musicians and guests to sit in and play. There's no set list or fixed programme here; instead, it's an open floor where all genres of music go on the go, so you'll hear a fair mix of styles across the afternoon. Whether you're a regular or just fancy stepping up for a song, the door is open to anyone who wants to join in.
Ivory Blacks, at 56 Oswald Street in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, is a 300-capacity venue run by music lovers that books touring and local talent across styles. It's a central spot, easy to get to on a Friday afternoon, and the jam has made it a regular home. The session runs from 1.30pm to 5.45pm, so it's a daytime one rather than a late-night gig — plenty of time to get involved and still have your evening ahead of you.

It's a free event, and because it's a jam, the music changes depending on who turns up on the day. If you play, bring your gear and come along; if you don't, it's just as easy to spend the afternoon listening. You'll find it at Ivory Blacks, 56 Oswald Street, Glasgow City Centre G1 4PL, on the first Friday of every month, 1.30pm to 5.45pm.
