Life Without Buildings play their first Glasgow gigs since 2002 at Saint Luke's, with support from Comber.
Life Without Buildings are back at Saint Luke's and the Winged Ox on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November, their first Glasgow dates since 2002. They're playing two nights in the East End, with Comber supporting both.
It's been a long time coming. The band formed here in Glasgow in 1999, with Sue Tompkins on vocals, Robert Dallas Gray on guitar, Chris Evans on bass and Will Bradley on drums. They only stayed together for three years, from 1999 to 2002, and left behind a single studio album, the seminal Any Other City (2001), before splitting the following year. A live album, Live at the Annandale Hotel, followed in 2007.
The reunion was announced with two sold-out London shows as part of Rough Trade's 50th anniversary celebrations, and these are the band's first Glasgow dates since 2002. The shows form part of a seven-date UK tour across Glasgow and London, so they're playing the city twice in a row rather than just once. If you've only ever known them through the record, this is the first time they've played here in twenty-four years.
