A special performance celebrating the rich musical imagination of one of Scotland's most distinctive songwriters, with lush orchestral arrangements by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
King Creosote plays the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday 18 January 2027, with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra joining him on stage. It's part of Celtic Connections, so it sits right in the middle of the festival's run.
Creosote is one of Scotland's most distinctive songwriters, known for taking folk-rooted melodies and turning them into songs that feel deeply evocative and emotionally resonant. His catalogue balances intimacy, wit and lyrical depth, and that's the material he's bringing to this one. The Scottish Chamber Orchestra will be there to add new dimensions to his familiar songs through lush orchestral arrangements and sweeping dynamics, bringing together contemporary Scottish songwriting and the expressive possibilities of a world-class chamber orchestra. There's support on the bill as well, so it's a full evening of music rather than just a single set.
The venue is the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, one of the city's most prestigious stages, which hosts nearly 250 performances each year and draws classical, jazz, pop, rock and folk artists from all over. Under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult.
