Jamie T returns to Scotland for two gigs at the O2 Academy as part of his Ghosts tour, performing tracks from his sixth studio album.
Jamie T is back at the O2 Academy Glasgow on Tuesday 15 December, with a second date on Wednesday 16 December. Both are part of his Ghosts tour, a headline run across the UK.
If you've followed him since the start, you'll know the name. He was only 18 when he released Panic Prevention in 2007, a debut that made the Mercury Prize shortlist and put him on the map. From there, he became one of the defining voices of late-2000s British alternative music, with singles like 'Sheila' and 'Sticks 'n' Stones' blending indie rock, post-punk and rap around observational lyrics. Over two decades he's put out a steady stream of records, including a UK Number 1 album with 2022's The Theory of Whatever.
These Glasgow dates are built around his sixth studio album, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), an 11-track collection he describes as former ghosts of ideas born out of a difficult time in his own life. Lyrically it looks at growing up, leaving youth behind, love, loss and the brittle nostalgia of indie-era nights, and he says it's as much about letting go as reclaiming his identity. The set will draw from that new material alongside the older songs he's known for.
