A night of six short scratch performances from Scotland's most exciting artists across theatre, music, performance art and poetry, plus the company's signature mystery special guest.
I'll Scratch Yours is at the Citizens Theatre on Friday 30 October, a night of six short scratch performances from Scottish artists across theatre, music, performance art and poetry. It's a showcase for new writing and performance, and the bill is rounded off with the company's signature mystery special guest.
The format is a scratch night, which means the pieces are short, raw and first-time-on-stage. The whole evening runs for an hour and 45 minutes including an interval, so you'll see six different artists in one sitting. It's a platform for the next generation of Scottish talent, and work that starts here has gone on to Fringe runs and full-scale production.
It's hosted by the Citizens Theatre, an iconic venue and company in the Gorbals, one of the few self-producing theatres in Scotland and led by Artistic Director Dominic Hill. Their seasons mix contemporary versions of classic plays with new Scottish drama, and their Citizens Learning team runs community productions, projects, classes and educational activities. This particular night is recommended for ages 16+ and is supported by The Awesome Foundation.
