Stand-up comedy show by Ignacio Lopez, star of Live At The Apollo and Have I Got News For You, crafting a story from nothing.
Ignacio Lopez brings his show Nada to The Stand Comedy Club on Thursday 3 December, with the set starting at 7:30 PM. It's billed as his most ambitious and pretentious project yet, and the title gives away the premise: he builds the show right in front of the audience out of absolutely nothing. He works with his own upbringing in Mallorca and South Wales, takes suggestions from the crowd, and pulls in everything he's learned performing since 2010 to piece it together as he goes.
Lopez is a Spanish and Welsh stand-up based in Cardiff, and his background is a fair bit of the story. His parents are Welsh/Irish and Moroccan/Spanish, and he has a German sister, so there's a lot of different cultures crossing over in one family. He's been called Spain's 'Best Export', and that mix of influences comes through in the material he mines for the show.
He's a familiar face from UK television, with appearances on Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI, and Richard Osman's House of Games. Beyond the TV spots, he's headlined top comedy clubs, cruises, and corporate and military shows around the world, and has sold out tour dates across the UK. He's performed for the Wales football squad and opened for James Dean Bradfield of Manic Street Preachers. During the pandemic, he shifted his focus to online comedy content, gathering over 20 million views across social media. Nada is the latest project from that career, and it's the one he's building on the night.
