Herb Alpert brings The Tijuana Brass back together for their first tour in over 50 years, playing hits from 'Whipped Cream & Other Delights'.
Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass play the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday 7 May 2027, their first tour together in more than 50 years. The trumpeter, artist, record executive and philanthropist is returning to the UK with the band that defined his early career, and this is the first time they've shared a stage in over half a century.
The group reformed in 2025, the 60th anniversary of the album Whipped Cream & Other Delights, and has since played over 70 sell-out shows across the country. That record topped the US charts and at its height outsold even the Beatles, and it's the one the set will lean on. You'll hear the songs that made the band a household name: 'Spanish Flea', 'A Taste of Honey', 'Tijuana Taxi' and 'Mexican Shuffle'. Along with those, they'll be playing later number ones like 'This Guy's in Love With You' and 'Rise'.
Alpert first broke through in 1962 with 'The Lonely Bull', and he built his career around a warm, brass-led style that became one of the defining sounds of the 1960s. Beyond the stage, he co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss, the label that became home to The Carpenters, The Police and Janet Jackson. This tour brings the Tijuana Brass back to the front and centre, playing the material that first put them on the map.
