Weekly karaoke night where participants sing along with a live guitarist on stage at Riding Room.
Guitaraoke is back at Riding Room on Tuesday nights throughout October and November, with dates on 6, 20, and 27 October, and 3, 10, 17, and 24 November. The premise is straightforward: instead of singing over a backing track, you take the stage and sing along with your own guitarist live. It's billed as weekly entertainment for karaoke lovers, and the live accompaniment is the whole point.
Riding Room is a cocktail and cabaret bar in the city centre, also known as the Joint on the Corner, and it keeps a busy schedule with on-stage activity seven nights a week. The programming mixes live sets, burlesque, side-show, and magic, so Guitaraoke is just one of the nights they run. The drinks are served in everything from tin cans and jam jars to silver kettles, and the bar keeps an absinthe 'hard liquor cabinet' for when you're feeling adventurous.

It's a free event, so there's no ticket to book in advance. Doors open at 9pm and the music starts at 10pm, which gives you plenty of time to get a drink in hand before the singing kicks off. If you're not the one taking the mic, it's still a decent spot to watch others have a go. You'll find it at 58 Virginia Street, Glasgow City Centre G1 1TX.
