Edinburgh indie-rock four-piece Fright Years perform their guitar-driven sound at King Tut's, with support from Nani Porenta.
Fright Years play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Saturday 28 November, with support from Nani Porenta. It's one of five dates on their UK tour, and the Glasgow show is for over-18s.
Fright Years are a cinematic indie-rock four-piece from Edinburgh, formed in 2021 by art school students and backed by BBC Introducing. They describe their sound as a blend of 90s alt-rock, 80s post-punk and modern dream-pop, and it's guitar-driven and emotionally charged. The band gained momentum after their debut EP, Still Life, came out in March 2025. Produced by Theo Verney, it features the Radio 1-backed singles 'Stars', 'Obstacles' and 'Aftersun', alongside 'Do What You Wanna' — which was named BBC Introducing Scotland's Track of the Week — and 'Lie Down Forever'.
Frontwoman Juliette Kelly wrote the record during a time of real loss, and her voice shifts from raw and intimate to soaring and anthemic. That's the core of the band's appeal: the songs start in a quiet, personal place and build into something much larger. The Glasgow date is part of a five-date UK tour, so they'll be playing these tracks live across the country.
