Musical comedy duo Flo & Joan, sisters Rosie and Nicola Dempsey, play their new show 'With Feeling' at The Pavilion Theatre.
Flo & Joan are back at The Pavilion Theatre on Tuesday 10 November, their first Glasgow date in a while. The show is called With Feeling, and it's a brand-new one, so you'll be seeing material they've put together since they were last on stage.
If you're not familiar with them, Flo & Joan are sisters Rosie and Nicola Dempsey. They're a British-born, Toronto-based musical comedy duo of piano and percussion who've played to sold-out audiences across North America and internationally, including Montreal Sketchfest. They write their own shows by taking another 'real band's' setlist as a starting point and building around it, ruminating on questions like 'what is music?', 'how do you be a band?' and 'is comedy?' in the sharp-tongued, deadpan style that's become their trademark.
They've appeared on Live at the Apollo, The Royal Variety Performance and Comic Relief's Red Nose Day Live 2023, and their comedy special Alive on Stage is on Amazon Prime. Critics have compared them to the offspring of Flanders & Swann, Flight of the Conchords and Garfunkel & Oates, so you've got a decent sense of where they sit: musical comedy with a dry, slightly off-kilter edge.
