Stand-up comedian Finlay Christie performs his new show, exploring his past and his search for authentic connection.
Finlay Christie brings his new show, Finlay Christie's New Super Special Secret Tour, to The Stand Comedy Club on Saturday 21 November. It's a solo hour, and the premise is one he's quite happy to lean into: he spends the set humblebragging about his fuckboy era and his new search for meaningful, authentic connection. If you've seen him before, you'll know that's exactly the kind of thing he likes to work through on stage.
Christie has built a decent name for himself over the last few years. He's appeared on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Have I Got News For You, and his YouTube specials OK Zoomer and Aura Farmer have nearly a million views between them. Chortle called him "the voice of a generation," which is a big thing to live up to, but this tour is where he's putting the work in.
The venue is The Stand, over on Great Western Road in the West End. It opened back in 1995 as a hobby by a group of enthusiasts and has grown into a commercial company with three purpose-built rooms across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. It's kept its commitment to new Scottish comedy along the way, running Red Raw beginners' nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows and showcase nights alongside solo runs by better-known names. Performers and critics rate the clubs among the best comedy venues in the world, and just over 100,000 people walked through the doors last year.

Doors open at 3pm, and the show starts at 4pm, so it's an afternoon slot rather than a late one. Tickets are £18, or £15 if you're eligible for the concession.
