Ferris & Sylvester return to King Tut's with their blend of blues, folk and rock n roll.
Ferris & Sylvester are back at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Wednesday 25 November, their first Glasgow date in a while. It's a husband-and-wife duo, Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester, who've spent the last decade writing, recording and performing together through their own label, Archtop Records. They met as solo musicians at London's Spiritual Bar, and their sound straddles folk, blues, soul and Americana, with honest storytelling at the centre of the work.
They've been building a steady run of records over the last few years. Their 2018 debut EP, Made In Streatham, was recorded in their flat's kitchen and went on to top Spotify's UK Virals chart. Rolling Stone named them one of the 'Americana Acts To Watch' in 2019, and their 2022 debut album, Superhuman, debuted at No.1 on the UK Official Blues Chart and won 'UK Album of the Year' at the 2023 UK Americana Awards.
Life took an unexpected turn in 2022 when their son was born seven weeks early during a festival trip to Nashville; they married in Nashville's Centennial Park when he was just ten days old. Their second album, Otherness (2024), topped both the UK Official Folk and Americana charts, followed by a third record, It's A Joy To Be Alive. Between the three albums and the early EP, there's a fair amount of material to draw from for a single night.
