Immersive Christmas show taking audiences on a magical journey through Glasgow's past, present and future using 24 state-of-the-art projectors.
Elfingrove returns to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from 26 November to 13 December, its first run in the city since 2022. It's a projection show that takes over the Centre Hall, and this time it's coming back after a ÂŁ2 million investment.
Inside, 24 projectors throw an 8k canvas 22.8 metres up the walls—roughly the height of a seven-storey building—covering 2,755 square metres. You get a curated cinematic score through individual headsets, so you're hearing the sound in your own ears while the images move around you. The show is billed as a community Christmas adventure that carries you through Glasgow's past, present and future, and it turns the gallery into a grand railway station.
When you step out of the hall, you're in the Elfingrove Christmas Village, which has light installations, street food, the Snowglobe Bar, marshmallow toasting and the Elfingrove Express miniature land train. It's the outdoor half of the experience, so you can hang around there before or after the show rather than just heading straight home.

Elfingrove was created by Oli Norman, CEO of itison, and has welcomed more than 400,000 visitors over the years. It's been away for a while—the Elfingrove ice rink had to be cancelled in 2023 because of the cost-of-living crisis, and this is the first time the show has returned to the city since 2022. Early bird tickets start from £12, and it runs from 26 November to 13 December at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
