Free drop-in family sessions at The Burrell Collection with crafts, music and object handling, with a different theme each weekend.
The Burrell Collection is running its Discover! Weekend Sessions every Saturday and Sunday from 1.30pm to 4pm, from 22nd November 2025 through to 20th December 2026. It's a drop-in family programme, so you just turn up when it suits you rather than booking a slot.
The sessions are built around hands-on activities for children and their grown-ups to get a closer look at the collection. Each weekend has its own theme, and the activities run across crafts, music and object handling, so the focus shifts from one weekend to the next. It's designed for families to work through together rather than as separate things for the kids.
Beyond the sessions, the museum itself is free to enter and holds more than 6,000 years of art and history, with world-class works by Rodin, Rembrandt and Degas on display. It's also one of the most accessible venues in the city: the first museum in Scotland to have two changing places toilets, alongside nine further accessible toilets and a lift. If you're coming from the park entrance, a free electric shuttle bus runs through Pollok Country Park, linking the entrance to the collection and to Pollok House.
