A festive adventure with Hansel and Gretel, a lost goat and a badger, at Platform Glasgow.
Platform Glasgow is bringing Hansel and Gretel to the East End this December, with the first performance on Tuesday 1 December and the run continuing through to Thursday 24 December. It's written by Lewis Hetherington and presented by Platform, the same team behind A Christmas Carol, Rumpelstiltskin and Sleeping Beauty.
The story starts on a snowy Christmas Eve, when a man finds two creatures on his doorstep — a goat and a badger — and takes them in, calling them Hansel and Gretel. From there, a strange and mysterious power takes hold of the forest and the pair get lost again, turning the show into a gripping festive tale. It leaves you wondering what lives in the Gingerbread House and whether the two will find somewhere to live happily ever after. The evening is rounded out with groovy songs and plenty of silly jokes, so it's a good one to bring the kids along to.
