Celtic Worship bring traditional Scottish folk and contemporary praise, alongside Zerua Music, to the O2 Academy.
Celtic Worship play the O2 Academy Glasgow on Thursday 17 December, with Zerua Music opening the bill. It's a Glasgow date for the Scottish collective, who've spent the last few years touring the UK and Europe.
They've been around since 2016, and the sound is a blend of traditional Scottish folk and contemporary Christian worship. The line-up draws on professional folk musicians, with Naomi Stirrat and David Hogg on vocals and a mix of fiddle, guitars and bagpipes. They work through traditional psalms, historic hymns and original tracks, so the set pulls from a few different places at once.
Their fourth studio album, Harvest, was written and recorded on a family farm in Morayshire. They describe it as capturing themes of spiritual growth and faith through land-inspired imagery, and the recording process itself—done on a farm rather than in a studio—sits right in the middle of that. It's the record they're touring, so you'll hear those songs alongside the older material and the traditional pieces they've always kept in the set.
