A live string quartet tribute concert performing the greatest hits of Coldplay and Ed Sheeran under candlelight at The Merchants House of Glasgow.
Candlelight: Coldplay vs. Ed Sheeran comes to The Merchants House of Glasgow on Friday 13 November, with a string quartet playing the music of both artists under candlelight. It's a tribute concert, not a performance by the artists themselves, and the whole thing runs for an hour.
The Coldplay half of the set pulls from across their career: Clocks, Something Just Like This, Adventure of a Lifetime, Fix You, The Scientist, Feels Like I'm Falling in Love, Viva La Vida, and A Sky Full of Stars. The Ed Sheeran side brings Bad Habits, Photograph, Shivers, Perfect, and Give Me Love. A live string quartet handles both, so you'll hear the songs stripped back to strings rather than as they sound on the records.
The venue is The Merchants House of Glasgow, in the Grand Hall at 7 West George Street, right in the city centre at the corner of George Square and West George Street. It's the old Merchant Guild building, which still houses a Glasgow charity that gives to other organisations, makes grants to educational institutions, and awards bursaries. The concert is recommended for ages 8 and over, and under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult.
