Volunteers revisit popular Burrell Bites and present them over the day at The Burrell Collection, allowing visitors to drop in for one session or stay for several.
The Burrell Collection is hosting the Burrell Bites Bonanza on Saturday 14 November, from 10:00 AM. It's a day of short talks, each focusing on a single object or artwork from the collection, and it's run by the museum's volunteers.
To understand the day, it helps to know what a Burrell Bite is. Usually, they're standalone talks that dive into one specific piece from the collection, and they normally run on Wednesdays. The Bonanza was set up for people who've wanted to come along but could never make a Wednesday work. On this day, volunteers revisit a number of the most popular Bites and present them one after another throughout the day, so you can drop in for a single session or stay for several. It's a good way to catch up on a few of the highlights in one go, rather than having to pick and choose across different weeks.
The full programme — the specific objects being talked about and the volunteers presenting them — will be published on the museum's website closer to the date, so you can see exactly what's on the list before you decide which sessions to catch. The talks are held within the museum itself, so you're seeing the objects in the same space they're kept.
